The scent of an old railway station in Greece

The scent of a train...I like trains. I like their rhythm, and I like the freedom of being suspended between two places. They are moving, they embody a connection between unseen places. Travel through time.

When I saw this old railway station, I was really excited. You can imagine so many things when you look closely to all these first and second class passenger carriages. It is like an open-air museum, unique of its kind in Messinia,Greece.

I tried to capture details that bring someone the scent or the life, if I can say, of old times. Steam and one diesel engines, passenger carriages since 1885, a control wheel, a metal pedestrian bridge, a water-tower with a cylindrical stone base are some of the things I saw and took photos.

Hope you enjoy the trip through time!
