On Writing & Conceptual Practice
The writing of Annita Apostolidou Platis does not function as commentary on the visual work.
It operates as a parallel construction.
Language does not describe the image; it enters the same field in which color, form, and meaning are negotiated.
Each text is developed as an extension of the work’s internal structure — not as explanation, but as form.
Fragments, essays, and poetic sequences emerge through an ongoing process in which visual and linguistic elements are conceived in relation to one another. Neither precedes nor completes the other.
This interdependence defines the artist’s practice across painting, curatorial writing, and publication.
The voice, rhythm, and conceptual direction of these texts are the result of sustained authorship and long-term research.
They are not stylistic gestures, but constructed positions.
