RUGS & REVERENCE
A visual homage where the infinite stories of rugs unfold into worlds — of animals, jewels, garments, and accessories — each thread carrying memory, narration, and a subtle shift of meaning.
This series is divided into two “realms”:
I. Creatures of Memory and II. Objects of Devotion.
Yet both are united through a shared aesthetic and concept.
For me, this body of work continues and evolves one of my many artistic journeys — My Soul Kingdom.
Through these new pieces, I revisit the things I love and draw inspiration from, approaching them with a surreal gaze. Past and Future become one.
General Overview
Rugs & Reverence is a visual symphony of life, legacy, and ornamentation — a series where every creature and object becomes a storyteller, drawing life from the magic of intricate patterns and colors.
I. Creatures of Memory
Animals emerge as living storytellers through the timeless artistry of rugs.
Set against textiles from lands renowned for their weaving traditions — Persia, Arabia, China — and accompanied by various animals and birds, they rise as sacred symbols of intuition, endurance, and grace — guardians of beauty and collective memory.
In these works, forms transform; everything is reborn in new symbolism — as if displayed within a jewelry showcase not meant to be touched, but only contemplated.
Here, the rug is not a background but a vessel of remembrance — a woven archive of stories. Against the passage of time, the animals surface as living emblems — embodiments of nobility, instinct, and silent wisdom. Their bodies, adorned with patterns, beads, and protective motifs, radiate beauty and sacred uniqueness.
Each artwork invites the viewer to perceive the animal kingdom differently.
The textile becomes myth, and the creature becomes emblem.
II. Objects of Devotion
In this sequence, the sacred dialogue continues beyond living forms.
Jewels, garments, and handcrafted accessories become conduits that carry images and memories.
Golden threads, tassels, and ornamental details speak of devotion to continuity and to the grace of creation.
Each artwork transforms the decorative object into a symbol — reimagined through digital artistry without losing its timeless elegance.
These are not mere adornments; they travel through time, shifting in form and style.
Heritage is worn, carried, and remembered.

Ένα εικαστικό αφιέρωμα που μέσα από τις άπειρες ιστορίες των χαλιών και τη βοήθειά τους ξεδιπλώνονται κόσμοι – του Βασίλειου των ζώων, των κοσμημάτων, ρούχων και αξεσουάρ — όπου κάθε νήμα φέρει μνήμη, αφήγηση και αλλάζει τροπή στο νόημα.
Αυτή η σειρά έργων χωρίζεται σε δύο «κόσμους» :
- I. Τα Πλάσματα της Μνήμης και II. Τα Αντικείμενα της Αφοσίωσης.
Όμως και οι δύο ενώνονται στο ύφος και την έννοια.
Για μένα είναι η συνέχεια και η εξέλιξη ενός από τα πολλά εικαστικά ταξίδια μου με τίτλο My Soul Kingdom. Στη σειρά αυτή προσπαθώ να προσεγγίσω πράγματα που αγαπώ και εμπνέομαι με σουρεαλιστική ματιά. Παρελθόν – Μέλλον είναι ένα.
Γενική περιγραφή
Η σειρά "χαλιά και ευλάβεια" είναι μια οπτική συμφωνία της ζωής, της κληρονομιάς και της διακόσμησης — μια σειρά όπου κάθε πλάσμα – αντικείμενο, γίνεται αφηγητής, και κατά κάποιο τρόπο παίρνει ζωή από την μαγεία σχεδίων και χρωμάτων των περίτεχνων χαλιών.
I. Πλάσματα της Μνήμης (Creatures of Memory)
Ζώα που γίνονται ζωντανοί αφηγητές μέσα από την απαράμιλλη τέχνη των χαλιών. Με φόντο χαλιά από χώρες με ιστορία στην τεχνική τους, όπως η Περσία, Αραβία, Κίνα, και συνοδοιπόρους διάφορα ζώα και πτηνά, τους δίνεται η δύναμη να αναδύονται ως ιερά σύμβολα διαίσθησης, αντοχής και χάρης — φύλακες της ομορφιάς και της συλλογικής μνήμης. Μέσα από τα έργα μου αλλάζουν μορφή όλα και δημιουργείται ένας νέος δρόμος – Σαν μία βιτρίνα κοσμημάτων που δε πρέπει να αγγιχτεί, πάρα μόνο να μελετηθεί.
Εδώ, το χαλί δεν είναι φόντο αλλά ένα υφαντό αρχείο ιστοριών. Ενάντια στο πέρασμα του χρόνου, τα ζώα εμφανίζονται ως ζωντανά εμβλήματα. Τα σώματά τους, στολισμένα με μοτίβα, χάντρες και προστατευτικά μοτίβα, ακτινοβολούν ομορφιά και ιερή μοναδικότητα.
Κάθε έργο καλεί τον θεατή να αντιληφθεί το ζωικό Βασίλειο διαφορετικά. Το ύφασμα γίνεται μύθος και το πλάσμα γίνεται έμβλημα.
II. Αντικείμενα Αφοσίωσης (Objects of Devotion)
Κοσμήματα, αξεσουάρ και αντικείμενα τέχνης μπλέκονται και εμπνέονται από την ιερή γλώσσα του υφάσματος.
Κάθε έργο τέχνης μεταμορφώνει το διακοσμητικό αντικείμενο σε σύμβολο.
Σε συνδυασμό με χρυσά νήματα, φούντες και αντικείμενα που φέρουν την αύρα άλλης εποχής, τα έργα ανασχηματίζονται μέσα από την ψηφιακή τέχνη, χωρίς να χάνουν τη διαχρονική τους κομψότητα.
Δεν είναι απλώς στολίδια· ταξιδεύουν στο χρόνο, παίρνουν νέα μορφή και ύφος.
Η κληρονομιά φοριέται, μεταφέρεται και θυμάται.

The Sapphire Whisper
Description:
Bathed in indigo light, this Arabian horse becomes a vessel of calm strength.
Blue ornamental tracings recall the sacred geometry of ancient carpets, while a single gemstone mirrors the stillness of devotion. It is the whisper of the Silk Road — where the breath of an animal met the shimmer of empire.

Λουσμένο σε ατμόσφαιρα λουλακί και φωτεινού κοβαλτίου, το αραβικό άλογο μεταμορφώνεται σε σκεύος γαλήνιας δύναμης.
Τα μπλε διακοσμητικά μοτίβα θυμίζουν την ιερή γεωμετρία των αρχαίων χαλιών, ενώ ένα πολύτιμο πετράδι αντανακλά τη σιωπή της αφοσίωσης. Είναι ο ψίθυρος του Δρόμου του Μεταξιού — εκεί όπου η ανάσα του ζώου συναντούσε τη λάμψη μιας αυτοκρατορίας.
Artistic Notes:
A meditation on serenity and spiritual geometry. The indigo tracings across the horse’s face evoke a sacred language — one that transcends ornament to become breath, rhythm, and prayer. The composition balances silence and opulence, using blue as both emotion and architecture. Here, devotion takes form in stillness, while the gemstone becomes an eye to the infinite.

Its calm gaze evokes royalty without reign — a presence wrapped in warmth and secrecy. Every bead, a memory; every fold of the rug, a chapter in the lineage of grace.

The Ornament of Dawn

Floral arabesques intertwine with pearls of light, transforming the horse into a living emblem of prayer and endurance. Here, daylight and legacy ride together — an ode to the first light of reverence.

Το κόκκινο και το χρυσό ανάβουν πάνω στο πρόσωπο του αλόγου σαν φωτιά της αυγής πάνω στην άμμο της ερήμου.
Αραβουργήματα και μαργαριταρένιο φως μεταμορφώνουν το άλογο σε ζωντανό έμβλημα προσευχής και αντοχής. Εδώ, το φως της μέρας και η κληρονομιά πορεύονται μαζί — ένας ύμνος στην πρώτη αναλαμπή της ιερότητας.

A hymn to labor as sacred rhythm. The composition merges the geometry of the hive with the discipline of weaving, suggesting that creation is not chaos but choreography. The golden hues shimmer like sunlight filtered through devotion — a reminder that beauty is built, patiently, through purpose.

Its ivory-and-gold form bridges the worlds of craft and eternity, embodying the Egyptian principle of life renewed through creation. Encased within its ornate frame, it mirrors the artist’s dialogue between material and myth — a reminder that illumination often resides within the smallest architectures of being.

ASTRAEL
Astrael
Description:
Astrael stands as a sanctified guardian of woven memory — a floral-adorned feline whose body becomes a living tapestry. Set within a gilded, ceremonial frame, the creature’s gentle face and vast obsidian eyes evoke both innocence and cosmic awareness. Petal motifs bloom across its porcelain surface, merging nature with textile heritage, as if the cat itself were stitched from ancestral rugs.
At its center, a golden emblem houses an all-seeing eye, symbol of vigilance and silent protection. Behind it, circular patterns echo the geometry of ancient carpets, suggesting cycles of time, devotion, and continuity.

Ο Astrael αναδύεται ως ιερός φύλακας υφασμένων μνημών — ένα αιλουροειδές στολισμένο με άνθη, του οποίου το σώμα μεταμορφώνεται σε ζωντανή ταπισερί. Τοποθετημένος μέσα σε επίχρυσο τελετουργικό πλαίσιο, το αθώο του βλέμμα και τα βαθιά, οψιδιανά μάτια του εκπέμπουν μια αίσθηση αγνότητας αλλά και κοσμικής επίγνωσης. Τα μοτιβα που ανθίζουν πάνω στην πορσελάνινη επιφάνειά του συνενώνουν φύση και κλωστοϋφαντουργική κληρονομιά, σαν να είναι το ίδιο το πλάσμα υφασμένο από αρχαία χαλιά.
Στο κέντρο του, ένα χρυσό έμβλημα με ένα κοσμικό μάτι συμβολίζει εγρήγορση και άηχη προστασία. Στο βάθος, κυκλικά μοτίβα αντηχούν τη γεωμετρία παλαιών χαλιών, υποδηλώνοντας κύκλους χρόνου, αφοσίωσης και συνέχειας.

Astrael becomes neither animal nor ornament — but an eternal emblem of intuition, beauty, and remembrance. In this piece, the rug transforms into myth, and the creature becomes relic. Amberine transforms a meticulously crafted handbag into a luminous relic of memory and devotion. Woven from Persian and Arabic textile motifs, the object blends floral embroidery, geometric symbolism, and deep emerald hues into a tapestry of heritage. A halo of sculpted amber beads rises above it, glowing with the warmth of resin that has carried sunlight across centuries.
Behind the object, a garment of rich blue and gold brocade forms the silhouette of an unseen guardian — a presence that evokes lineage, ceremony, and the quiet rituals of craftsmanship. This piece evokes the noble weight of ancestry and myth. The central pendant — a heart-shaped Tree of Life — becomes a miniature world of branching wisdom, jeweled seasons, and symbolic renewal. Set against a robe inspired by Chinese aristocratic garments, embroidered in imperial black and gold, the necklace gains the aura of an heirloom preserved across dynasties.
The dark beads, heavy and sculptural, resemble polished stones worn by ceremonial figures, grounding the composition in strength and remembrance. Each gemstone droplet beneath the tree symbolizes an emotion, a generation, a prayer — suspended in time.

Τοποθετημένο μπροστά από ένδυμα εμπνευσμένο από κινεζικά αυτοκρατορικά υφάσματα, κεντημένο σε βαθύ μαύρο και χρυσό, το κόσμημα αποκτά την αύρα ενός οικογενειακού κειμηλίου που διατηρήθηκε μέσα από γενιές.
Οι σκοτεινές, στιβαρές χάντρες που το πλαισιώνουν θυμίζουν τελετουργικούς λίθους, γειώνοντας το σύνολο στη δύναμη, τη μνήμη και την αντοχή του χρόνου.
