Colors of Humanity Art Gallery — Best of Show, “Skies” 2026
Format: International Juried Online Exhibition
Organizer: Colors of Humanity Art Gallery
Location: Everett, Pennsylvania, United States
Exhibition Dates: March 1–31, 2026
Award: Best of Show (Monetary Prize)
Awarded Artwork: Blind to Gravity
Series: When Color Knows the Script
Blind to Gravity was awarded Best of Show in the international juried exhibition Skies 2026, selected among 36 accepted works representing artists from the United States, Greece, Ireland, Italy, and Ukraine. The exhibition explored the conceptual and emotional dimensions of “sky” through diverse media including painting, digital art, photography, and mixed media. The juror evaluated works based on originality, interpretation of theme, technical execution, compositional strength, and clarity of presentation. In Blind to Gravity, the sky is reimagined not as atmosphere above, but as interior landscape. Through a restrained yet resonant blue palette, symbolic avian elements, and suspended feather motifs, the work explores transcendence as psychological detachment rather than physical ascent. The composition proposes that liberation begins when one releases the weight of external measurement.
As Best of Show, the artwork received a monetary award and was featured as the cover image of the exhibition. The show also contributed 10% of entry fees to SERRV International, supporting global artisan communities — aligning artistic recognition with social impact.

Gallery Ring – Emerald Artist of the Year 2026
Format: International Artist of the Year Award & Online Exhibition
Location: Ontario, Canada
Organizer: Gallery Ring
Date: January 2026
Award: EMERALD ARTIST OF THE YEAR
Awarded Artwork: Between Yes and No
Series: When Color Knows the Script
I am deeply honored to be named Emerald Artist of the Year 2026 by Gallery Ring for my artwork Between Yes and No, selected to represent the 2025 artistic year. This distinction is awarded in recognition of sustained artistic excellence, conceptual clarity, and the ability to communicate a coherent visual language across one’s body of work.
Between Yes and No belongs to my ongoing series When Color Knows the Script, a collection that explores the psychological and symbolic intelligence of color as an autonomous narrative force. The work inhabits a liminal space, between affirmation and hesitation, decision and surrender, where color, gesture, and silence collaborate to express emotional ambiguity and inner negotiation. This recognition affirms a year of artistic inquiry centered on intuition, restraint, and meaning shaped through subtle tension rather than declaration. It acknowledges not only a single artwork, but a broader commitment to visual storytelling where color functions as memory, language, and quiet authority.
I extend my sincere gratitude to Gallery Ring for this meaningful honor and for its continued dedication to celebrating contemporary artists through thoughtful curation and international visibility.

Through layered tonal modulation and controlled compositional balance, the artwork constructs an atmosphere where growth is expressed not as spectacle, but as inner alignment.

Gallery Ring – Golden Trio Award – FLOWER 2026

Organizer: Gallery Ring
Date: January 2026
Award: GOLDEN TRIO AWARD
Awarded Artworks: Remnant, Veil, Sanctum
Series: Rugs & Reverence

These three pieces form part of my ongoing series Rugs & Reverence, where floral symbolism and devotional objects become vessels of memory, care, and cultural continuity. Remnant reflects the traces of what remains, Veil evokes the softness of concealment and revelation, and Sanctum suggests a space of inward stillness. Together, they create a visual meditation on tenderness, heritage, and the sacred presence of everyday objects.

I am honored to receive the 1st Place Diamond Snowflake Award for The Nutcracker’s Muse, presented by Gallery Ring as part of the Holiday Advent Show 2025. I am deeply honored to be named Crystal Artist of December 2025 by Gallery Ring — a distinction recognizing artworks of remarkable conceptual clarity, emotional depth, and refined visual impact.
About the Artwork — Between Yes and No
Between Yes and No examines the suspended moment before a decision is made. The fragile threshold where certainty dissolves and possibility begins. Doors, symbols, and shifting chromatic fields emphasize that the true conflict lives in the pause: between inhale and exhale, thought and voice, acceptance and refusal. The composition reflects an interior theatre of the mind, where silence becomes language and hesitation becomes architecture. Color reveals emotion; emotion reveals truth. In this suspended space, identity emerges not from choice itself, but from the courage to stand in uncertainty. This artwork is part of the series When Color Knows the Script, where each portrait and object-world explores how color directs narrative, how symbolism carries emotional weight, and how the unseen becomes visible.

Location: Ontario, Canada
Organizer / Publisher: Gallery Ring
Date: December 2025
Award: CRYSTAL AWARD
Awarded Artwork: The Sweetness of Control
Series: When Color Knows the Script
I am honored to receive the Crystal Award in Gallery Ring’s COLOUR International Juried Exhibition, a distinction granted to artworks whose chromatic sensitivity, compositional strength, and conceptual resonance stand out within the international selection.
About the Artwork — The Sweetness of Control
The Sweetness of Control explores how elegance becomes intention and ritual becomes quiet authority.
An embroidered umbrella adorned with porcelain teacups, teapots, and golden spoons transforms the figure into an architect of balance — a presence defined not by sweetness, but by precision and poised restraint. Through vintage reds, warm golds, and porcelain blues, the work reflects a domestic theatre where gentleness masks power and beauty frames discipline.
This recognition highlights the symbolic and aesthetic strength of When Color Knows the Script, affirming the series’ growing presence in international contemporary art exhibitions.
Gallery Ring – Ruby Award – November 2025
Format: Online International Juried Art Contest
Location: Ontario, Canada
Organizer / Publisher: Gallery Ring
Date: November 2025
Award: RUBY Award
Awarded Artwork: The Ornament of Dawn
Series: Rugs & Reverence
I am deeply honored to receive the Ruby Award in Gallery Ring’s ANIMAL International Juried Contest — a distinction granted to artworks that demonstrate exceptional originality, composition, and emotional resonance.
About the Artwork — The Ornament of Dawn
Crimson and gold awaken on the horse’s face like morning fire over desert sand. Floral arabesques intertwine with pearls of light, transforming the horse into a living emblem of prayer and endurance. Here, daylight and legacy ride together — an ode to the first light of reverence. Red and gold unfold like a liturgy: a sacred fire rising through pattern and breath. The floral motifs echo the continuity of culture, while each pearl of light suggests the endurance of spirit. In this work, the horse becomes more than subject — it becomes a vessel of transcendence, where endurance, ritual, and beauty coexist in luminous tension.

I am deeply honored to have received the Ruby Award in Gallery Ring’s International Juried Contest RED. This recognition celebrates the originality, composition, and evocative power of my work The Curtain Knows.
Beneath the striped grandeur of a circus-tent crown, The Curtain Knows unveils a silent performance where light reveals as much as it conceals. The central figure—balanced between innocence and revelation—is both ringmaster and secret-keeper, guarding emotions that share the same painted smile. Lamps and parasols stand like quiet witnesses, their glow playing deliberate tricks, uncovering fleeting truths behind the façade. This is no spectacle of noise, but of introspection, where identity becomes a dreamlike theatre and the curtain remembers everything we try to hide. Part of my series The Luminous Abyss, the work explores the emotional tension between light and darkness, between what we reveal and what we keep in shadow. Lighting forms—chandeliers, lampshades, glowing bulbs—serve as portals into the soul’s hidden architecture, bridging retro opulence with timeless human vulnerability.

I am truly honored to have received the Ruby distinction in Gallery Ring’s International Juried Contest, recognizing excellence in originality, composition, and emotional impact.
The Oracle of Opaline Brass explores the intersection of symbolism, emotional depth, and luminous form. Through layered digital collage, I evoke the subtle tension between light and shadow — both physical and psychological. This mythic feminine figure becomes a vessel of vision and memory. Architectural motifs, ceremonial adornments, and golden elements reflect my fascination with ornamentation as a language of presence. This piece is a meditation on stillness as perception and beauty as resilience. I create to illuminate personal archetypes that feel at once intimate and eternal.

Distribution: Lulu Global Print Platform
Location: New York / Athens
Date: February 2026
Role: Author, Visual Artist, Essayist
In February 2026, Annita Apostolidou Platis published her first hardcover artist monograph, Legends – The Code, in collaboration with Sfumato Art Creatives. The 45-page publication presents the complete Legends – The Code series alongside curatorial essays, poetic reflections, and conceptual texts that extend the visual language of the works into written form. Conceived as both visual manuscript and reflective archive, the book explores mythology as a living cultural framework rather than distant historical narrative.
Through reinterpretations of mythological figures such as Callisto, Medusa, Persephone, Hippolyta, Melissa, and others, the publication examines how ancient archetypes continue to resonate within contemporary feminine identity. Rather than documenting artworks alone, the book functions as a structured dialogue between image and language — bridging classical heritage, psychological inquiry, and modern artistic practice. The design emphasizes clarity, rhythm, and contemplative pacing, allowing the artworks to unfold within a refined typographic and spatial framework. Legends – The Code marks a significant milestone in the artist’s practice, positioning the series within the format of a collected monograph and expanding its conceptual presence beyond exhibition space.

Date: February 2026
Contribution: Curatorial Essay
Title: Beyond Valentine: Reclaiming Love Through Art
Read the Editorial Feature: Beyond Valentine
In February 2026, Annita Apostolidou Platis was invited to contribute a curatorial essay to The Alchemical Art, Australia’s leading virtual and billboard art gallery and contemporary art platform. The published piece, Beyond Valentine: Reclaiming Love Through Art, examines love not as commercial symbol, but as psychological, philosophical, and artistic force. Drawing connections between ancient ritual, Romantic poetry, modernist painting, sculpture, and contemporary photography, the essay reframes Valentine’s Day through the lens of art history and emotional inquiry. Rather than presenting love as spectacle, the essay explores it as presence — as attention, vulnerability, memory, and transformation. Referencing artists such as Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Frida Kahlo, Marc Chagall, Antonio Canova, and others, the text situates intimacy within broader cultural and psychological contexts. This editorial feature reflects a growing dialogue between the artist and The Alchemical Art, highlighting her evolving role as both exhibiting artist and curatorial essayist within contemporary art discourse.
