Her Belief Became My Strength: The Woman Who Shaped My Path
A personal reflection on International Women’s Day about the woman who shaped my strength and the quiet influence that inspires courage, resilience, and artistic journeys.
(International Women’s Day 2026)
Behind many achievements, there is often someone whose belief made them possible.
International Women’s Day is not only a moment to celebrate achievements, but also a moment to acknowledge the women whose quiet influence shapes our paths long before the world notices our work.
For me, that woman is my mother.
She is an exceptionally educated and accomplished woman, holding university degrees in Business Administration, Law, and Psychology. Yet when she was young, she carried another dream — to become an artist: a theatre actress and a classical ballet dancer.
At that time, however, society often did not accept such professions for women, and circumstances prevented her from pursuing that path. Instead of allowing that loss to become bitterness, she transformed it into strength. She built a successful professional life and, most importantly, alongside her own accomplishments, she chose to support the dreams of the next generation.
From a very young age, she encouraged my artistic interests and believed in them without hesitation. When the time came, after my studies in Athens, we traveled together to Milan, where I continued my education in the fashion arts.
Through every stage of my artistic journey, as well as in my life choices and path, she stood and still stands beside me — not only as a parent, but as a constant source of confidence and psychological strength.
Everything I have achieved is certainly the result of years of work, perseverance, discipline, and patience. But it is also the result of her presence.
Her belief in me gave me the courage and strength to continue even when everything seemed impossible. She taught me that success is not only about recognition; it is about character, integrity, and inner strength.
The determination, persistence, and commitment I strive to cultivate within myself are qualities I first witnessed in her.
International Women’s Day reminds us that empowerment does not always happen through grand gestures. Often it begins quietly — through encouragement, mentorship, and belief.
When women support one another, they do more than uplift individuals; they expand what becomes possible for future generations.
My greatest wish is to make her proud and to give back, in my own way, the strength she once gave to me.
Today, I invite everyone to reflect on the woman who shaped their journey — and to honor her influence with gratitude.
Because behind many achievements, there is often a woman whose belief made them possible.
And sometimes, that belief becomes the very strength that guides us forward.
Happy International Women’s Day.
