"Bridging Worlds" The Interplay of Art and Poetry in My Creative Journey
In the final part of Bridging Worlds, Annita Apostolidou Platis reflects on the fusion of art and poetry—encouraging creators to embrace complexity, uncharted territories, and the transformative interplay of words and images.
Part 4.
“To anyone who feels drawn to both art and poetry, my advice is simple: embrace the complexity. Let your creative passions fuel one another, and don’t be afraid to let them lead you into uncharted territories. It is there, in the spaces between, that true artistry is born.” - Annita A.
Grateful for every moment of inspiration and for the opportunity to share these reflections through my work and collaborations, such as the upcoming Art Poetry Book, on October 30th.
This project has allowed me to once again merge the visual with the verbal, showcasing not just my own voice but also the collective voice of a diverse group of artists and poets brought together by the Barbagelata Contemporary Art Foundation @barbagelatafoundation .
As we reach the conclusion of my statement, I encourage all aspiring and established creators to embrace the interplay of art and poetry in their own works. This journey of creation is as challenging as it is rewarding, and it is within these intricate blends that we find new ways to express the inexpressible. Continue to explore, create, and inspire. "Bridging Worlds" The Interplay of Art and Poetry in My Creative Journey
In Bridging Worlds – Part 3, Annita Apostolidou Platis reflects on vulnerability, openness, and the transformative dialogue between poetry and visual art—where each form informs and elevates the other.
Part 3.
“This artistic endeavor demands a vulnerability and openness to let inspiration flow freely, whether it be a line of poetry or a color palette. The challenge lies not only in the creation itself but in allowing these different expressions to inform and transform one another. It’s about letting the visual narrative influence the poetic and vice versa, crafting a richer story that neither could tell alone.” - Annita A.
Join me in the next part of our discussion as I share insights into the profound impacts these intertwined creative forms have on both the creator and the audience. The journey continues—stay tuned!

A Reflection of Gratitude and Vision - Art Magazine Feature
Annita Apostolidou Platis reflects on her Art Magazine feature, where four of her artworks highlight the dialogue between Greek heritage, contemporary vision, and global cultural exchange.
As I proudly stand alongside my four artworks featured in the latest issue of Art Magazine, I am deeply honored to be part of this vibrant celebration of contemporary art that transcends borders and connects cultures. This edition's theme resonates profoundly with my journey as an artist, wherein my Greek heritage blends seamlessly with my dynamic exploration of color and form, nurtured from a young age under the guidance of Dimitris Kantopoulos.
My artistic philosophy has always been about bridging the gap between the traditional and the contemporary, a dialogue between the past and the present that is vividly reflected in my use of acrylics, ink, and impasto, as well as my pioneering mixed-media digital collages. Educated at the Marangoni Institute in Milan, with a rich background in fashion, jewelry design, and interior design, my work is a symphony of diverse influences—from Art Nouveau and Art Deco to Surrealism.
This feature in Art Magazine is not just a showcase of my art but a testament to the power of art to foster global dialogue and understanding. Through my work, I strive to offer a window into the interplay of the local and the global, the personal and the collective—inviting viewers to witness the confluence of historical motifs reimagined through a modern lens.
I extend my deepest thanks to the editor-in-chief, Allegra Barbagelata, and the entire team at Art Magazine for this incredible opportunity. It is a privilege to share this platform with such talented artists from around the world and to contribute to the ongoing conversation that art provokes in our lives.
As we continue to navigate these times of global connectivity, may we all find inspiration in the rich diversity and innovative spirit that art brings into our lives. Thank you for embracing my vision and joining me on this artistic journey.
