As the curtains close on the Spring International Art Exhibition at the Barbagelata Contemporary Art Foundation, I find myself enveloped in a profound sense of gratitude and inspiration. This exhibition not only showcased diverse talents and perspectives but also provided me with a unique opportunity to engage with art in the dual roles of artist and curator.

The art piece "The Gift, The One Who Holds The Elixir," which featured in the exhibition, explores the delicate impermanence of beauty, captured through the ethereal symbolism of the cherry blossom. This theme resonated deeply with the audience, prompting reflections on the transient yet impactful moments that define our existence.

I am deeply honored to have been awarded the Certificate of Artistic Merit by the foundation. This accolade is not just a recognition of my individual contribution but also a testament to the collaborative spirit that animated this event. "Annita is a distinguished Greek painter and curator celebrated for her dynamic use of color and transformative expertise in form. Born and based in Athens, Annita began her artistic journey at the age of eight through private lessons with Dimitris Kantopoulos, a revered painter and professor at the School of Fine Arts. Her deep connection to her heritage continuously propels her to push the boundaries of contemporary art.

Annita's educational journey is as diverse as her artistic expressions, including studies in fashion at the Veloudakis Fashion School and fashion and jewelry design at the Marangoni Institute in Milan. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Fashion, a Master's Degree in Jewelry Design & Accessories, and has completed advanced studies in Interior Design.

Fluent in English, Italian, French, and Greek, Annita's art transcends linguistic barriers. She draws inspiration from various artistic movements such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Surrealism, and from artists like Erté, Alphonse Mucha, and Salvador Dali. Her work skillfully blends historical and contemporary elements.

In 2016, Annita reinvigorated her focus on fine arts, utilizing mediums such as acrylics, ink, and impasto to create surreal figures and landscapes often incorporating her own poetic compositions. Her exploration into mixed media digital collage further demonstrates her innovative approach, merging traditional techniques with digital artistry.

Annita's contributions to the art world are recognized globally, evidenced by numerous awards from prestigious art institutions. Her accolades include the "HERMES, il messaggero degli Dei" and "POSEIDONE, il Dio dei Mari" from the Accademia Italia In Arte Nel Mondo, recognitions for promoting the values of Olympism from the National Olympic Academy of Greece.and the "INTERNATIONAL CAREER AWARDS 2023 – TALENTS AND PROFESSIONALS" from the Fondazione Costanza."

Μοναδικό ως προς τη προσέγγισή μου, προχωράω μπροστά χωρίς δισταγμό, αναγνωρίζοντας το παρελθόν μου, που όμως δεν άφησα ποτέ τον εαυτό μου να παγιδευτεί μέσα σε αυτό. Είμαι αφοσιωμένη στη συνεχή μάθηση, εστιάζοντας επιμελώς για να εξελιχθώ στην καλύτερη έκδοση του εαυτού μου. As an artist, I staunchly believe that abstract art demands a mastery over color and poetic brush strokes. These elements are not just tools but the very language through which abstract art speaks, conveying emotions and thoughts unbound by form. Mastery in color usage and the eloquence of each stroke transform abstract pieces into profound expressions of human experience.

Ως καλλιτέχνιδα, πιστεύω ακράδαντα ότι η αφηρημένη τέχνη απαιτεί μια κυριαρχία πάνω στο χρώμα και ποιητικές πινελιές. Αυτά τα στοιχεία δεν είναι μόνο εργαλεία αλλά η ίδια η γλώσσα μέσω της οποίας μιλάει η αφηρημένη τέχνη, μεταφέροντας συναισθήματα και σκέψεις που δεν δεσμεύονται από τη μορφή. Η άριστη γνώση της χρήσης των χρωμάτων και η «ευγλωττία» κάθε πινελιάς μετατρέπουν αφηρημένα κομμάτια σε βαθιές εκφράσεις της ανθρώπινης εμπειρίας.

The Woman, muse and driving force of life, weaves the canvas of love, standing as the beacon of creation. Her patience and perseverance are inexhaustible. She is the one who should be celebrated every day.

In the journey towards the eradication of prejudices and barriers, we seek a world where respect and appreciation form the foundation for every woman. Today is not exactly a celebration, but a significant reminder. We highlight progress and, at the same time, challenges such as violence and abuse. We encourage solidarity, support for women seeking justice, accelerating their equality and leadership. Η Γυναίκα, μούσα και κινητήρια δύναμη της ζωής, υφαίνει τον καμβά της αγάπης, στέκεται ως ο φάρος της δημιουργίας. Η υπομονή και η επιμονή της ανεξάντλητες. Είναι εκείνη που πρέπει να γιορτάζει κάθε μέρα. Στην πορεία για την εξάλειψη προκαταλήψεων και εμποδίων, αναζητούμε έναν κόσμο όπου ο σεβασμός και η εκτίμηση αποτελούν το βάθρο για κάθε γυναίκα. Η σημερινή μέρα δεν είναι ακριβώς γιορτή, αλλά μια σημαντική υπενθύμιση. Επισημαίνουμε την πρόοδο και ταυτόχρονα τις προκλήσεις, όπως η βία και η κακοποίηση. Ενθαρρύνουμε την αλληλεγγύη, την υποστήριξη σε γυναίκες που ζητούν δικαιοσύνη, επιταχύνοντας την ισότητα και την ηγεσία τους. Ένας ζωγράφος μπορεί να θεωρηθεί ως ταξιδιώτης, όχι με την κυριολεκτική έννοια της εξερεύνησης νέων τοποθεσιών, αλλά στο μεταφορικό ταξίδι μέσα από τα βασίλεια της φαντασίας, του συναισθήματος και της έκφρασης. Impasto is a thick application of paint that does not attempt to look smooth. A painting technique. Impasto is not a modern approach to painting. Art historians note that the technique was employed as early as the Renaissance and Baroque periods by artists such as Rembrandt, Titian, and Rubens. Impasto seems like a form of sculpture.
