Artist of the Month – May 2025 | Annita Apostolidou Platis | Camelback Gallery
Honored to be named Artist of the Month – May 2025 by Camelback Gallery for my artwork The Light Dwells in Shadows, a digital collage exploring identity, resilience, and the symbolic glow of light within shadow.
🌟 I’m honored to be selected as Artist of the Month – May 2025 by Camelback Gallery! 🌟
My artwork “The Light Dwells in Shadows” was chosen as one of this month’s featured pieces in their international juried showcase.
This mixed media digital collage is a visual meditation on identity, resilience, and the quiet power of introspection. Inspired by the metaphor of vintage lampshades—objects that diffuse light and conceal as much as they reveal—the figure embodies the duality between inner illumination and outward obscurity. A reminder that the most powerful glow often comes from within.
I’m truly grateful to the Camelback Gallery team for this recognition, and send my congratulations to all the incredible artists featured this month.

Golden Trio Award | Gallery Ring | PEOPLE May 2025 | Annita Apostolidou Platis
Thrilled to announce that my series The Era Clockmakers received the Golden Trio Award in Gallery Ring’s PEOPLE Exhibition (May 2025), honoring portraits that blend mythology, innovation, and the timeless quest to reshape time.
Thrilled to announce that I’ve been awarded the Golden Trio Award by Gallery Ring in their May 2025 PEOPLE exhibition.
My series The Era Clockmakers — featuring Clockwork Couturiere, The Elemental Forger, and The Quantum Alchemist — explores the intersection of mythology, innovation, and the human drive to shape time itself.
“Through my series The Era Clockmakers, I explore the timeless interplay between mythology, innovation and human purpose. Each portrait is a symbolic tribute to visionary figures — guardians, inventors and seekers — who navigate fractured realities and re engineer time as a force for transformation. These characters exist between eras, where ancient knowledge converges with imagined futures. In Clockwork Couturiere, time itself becomes fashion, stitched into elegance and memory. The Elemental Forger channels ancestral strength and future vision, forging harmony between cultural heritage and technological power. The Quantum Alchemist stands at the threshold of magic and science, embodying the quest for truth across dimensions. My intention is to honor those who walk alone yet move history forward — visionaries shaping tomorrow not with certainty but with courage. This collection is a call to re-imagine time as both myth and mechanism, driven by the deep belief that every moment can be remade.” — ANNITA APOSTOLIDOU PLATIS

Legends – The Code: The Alchemy of Myth and Modernity | Solo Exhibition by Annita Apostolidou Platis
Honored to present my solo exhibition Legends – The Code: The Alchemy of Myth and Modernity, curated by Sfumato Art Creatives (New York)—a collection of acrylic and digital collage works exploring myth, femininity, and sacred transformation.
Legends – The Code: The Alchemy of Myth and Modernity
Presented by Sfumato Art Creatives, New York
I am truly honored to unveil my solo exhibition “Legends – The Code” in collaboration with the visionary team at Sfumato Art Creatives. This exhibition invites viewers into a mythic realm where ancient symbolism merges with the modern female psyche—transcending time and medium.
Curated as part of Sfumato’s commitment to showcasing bold, narrative-driven contemporary art, Legends – The Code explores femininity through a series of deeply textured acrylic and digital collage works. Each piece emerges from a black canvas—a symbolic void—transformed into a radiant space of rebirth, resilience, and sacred transformation.
The exhibition speaks to the collective mythology of womanhood. Figures draped in symbolic fabrics and adorned with mythic codes embody a spectrum of archetypes: the warrior, the healer, the oracle. My visual language—rich in crimson, gold, and oceanic hues—draws from the spiritual, the sartorial, and the subconscious.
Art, for me, is an alchemical act. It’s where personal memory, myth, and the sacred feminine meet. Through techniques that blend fine art with fashion and esoteric symbolism, I aim to create spaces that do not just depict stories—but awaken them.
I invite you to experience the full virtual exhibition on Sfumato’s website:🔗 Visit the Exhibition
Stay tuned for the upcoming release of the official exhibition catalog.
With gratitude and light,

Welcome to "Legends - the Code"
Welcome to “Legends – The Code,” a powerful art series by Annita Apostolidou Platis. Through ten mixed media digital collages and poems, mythological women are reimagined as symbols of strength, resilience, and timeless influence in today’s world.
New series of artworks by Annita Apostolidou Platis
"Welcome to "Legends – The Code," a series of ten mixed media digital collages that bridge the past with the present by weaving the tales of mythological women whose stories of strength, resilience, and power echo through the ages. Following my previous collection, "Links," which explored the connectivity between women, nature, mythology, and history, this new series delves deeper into the personas of legendary women who have shaped cultural narratives about femininity and fortitude.
Each artwork, accompanied by a poem, forms a narrative woven from the vibrant threads of ancient mythology, reimagined through a modern lens. As you engage with each piece, you are invited to decode the hidden messages embedded within the canvases, enriching your appreciation of these powerful narratives. This exploration is not merely an artistic journey but a cultural dialogue, enhancing our understanding of how these legendary figures continue to influence contemporary life.
Through this series, I aim to celebrate the legendary past while drawing meaningful parallels to the experiences of modern women, illustrating that the core of human experience remains constant even as contexts change."

A Season of Artistic Reflection
Annita Apostolidou Platis closes the Spring International Art Exhibition with gratitude and inspiration. Featuring her artwork The Gift, The One Who Holds The Elixir and honored with a Certificate of Artistic Merit, she reflects on impermanence, curatorial practice, and the collaborative spirit that shaped the event.
Closing Thoughts on the Spring International Art Exhibition
As the curtains close on the Spring International Art Exhibition at the Barbagelata Contemporary Art Foundation, I find myself enveloped in a profound sense of gratitude and inspiration. This exhibition not only showcased diverse talents and perspectives but also provided me with a unique opportunity to engage with art in the dual roles of artist and curator.
The art piece "The Gift, The One Who Holds The Elixir," which featured in the exhibition, explores the delicate impermanence of beauty, captured through the ethereal symbolism of the cherry blossom. This theme resonated deeply with the audience, prompting reflections on the transient yet impactful moments that define our existence.
I am deeply honored to have been awarded the Certificate of Artistic Merit by the foundation. This accolade is not just a recognition of my individual contribution but also a testament to the collaborative spirit that animated this event. The foundation's feedback—"Your contributions significantly enriched the event, and your unwavering commitment to your artistry was vividly evident in your works"—is particularly gratifying. It reaffirms my dedication to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and engagement.
Behind the scenes, the journey was equally enriching. Working alongside a vibrant community of artists and thinkers, I was able to weave a narrative that extended beyond the visual and ventured into the experiential. From the initial concept to the final day of the exhibition, every step was a learning curve, steeped in the collective ethos of creative exploration.
As I reflect on these experiences, the recognition I received is not merely a personal achievement but a bridge to future artistic endeavors. It is a reminder of the responsibilities and possibilities that come with curatorial and artistic practices—of curating not just art but also curating life's ephemeral stories.
Looking forward, I am excited about the paths that now lay open. The interactions, insights, and inspirations from this exhibition will undoubtedly shape my future projects. I am eager to explore new horizons, continue my dialogues with fellow artists, and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of the global art community.
Thank you to everyone who visited, engaged with, and supported this exhibition. Your enthusiasm fuels the art we create and the stories we tell. Here's to continuing this beautiful journey together, with art as our shared language and exploration as our collective adventure. - Annita A.
